YOGA STARTED IT ALL

In early 2016 I attended a 200 hour yoga teacher training on the Big Island of Hawaii. Looking back, I’m not sure why I felt the need to book a ticket, pack my bags and go. At the time, I didn't have a devoted personal practice and I couldn't have told you the Sanskrit name for downward dog, but off I went. In between mat sessions I'd walk through the jungle or to the beach, reflect, and doodle in one of my beat up travel sketchbooks. It was there that I first thought about turning my designs into textiles and the seed of Kulik Clothing was formed. Fast forward a year and a half and we're shipping leggings all over the country and hard at work designing new styles! 
 

Starting a business from scratch is not always simple or fun, so here is one of my favorite flows I use to relax, calm down, and take minute to be thankful for this beautiful life. This flow, taken straight out of my teacher training journal, is easy, simple and feels so, so good!

The air, smell it!
A sky so blue, throw your hands into it.
A face, that stranger, is it your One True Love?

Embrace him! Kiss her. Don’t just fall in, leap!, hurl yourself into that love!

Imagine if, today, you forgot it all.
Would old habits become bold adventures?
Might boring be a guise of mystery?
The mundane, an invitation to wonder?

What if, today, you renounced all that you knew?
